Medium is home to an incredible variety of well-crafted articles with stunning visuals that bring each story to life. As a long-time reader and creator myself, I’ve noticed how these stories often feel like hidden gems that deserve a broader audience. That’s why I built this Chrome extension — to help Medium authors reach more people by transforming their blogs into shareable, social media-friendly short videos.
In an age where AI can be used to generate endless streams of content, I believe we should be using technology to amplify human creativity, not replace it. With this extension, creators can transform an article into a short video with a single click. No complicated software, no hassle. Just pure, unfiltered content, ready to be shared.

Who It’s For
This tool is designed primarily for Medium writers who want to bring their stories to life on other platforms like TikTok, Instagram, X, or YouTube shorts. When posting videos on TikTok and Instagram, don’t forget to add your favorite music to add energy and personality, making your video stand out.
For readers who love sharing insightful Medium articles, you can use it too. Just a note — many of the best pieces on Medium are reserved for members, so consider signing up if you want access to those gems.
How It Works & Where We Are
The extension is currently in its alpha testing phase, and it’s available for free to all users. The blog article needs to have at least a cover photo to be able to convert into a short video. At the moment, due to limited resources, each user can create 10 videos per day and created videos will be kept on api.video website for about 24 hours. Once the video is created, please download it as soon as possible. But I’m eagerly gathering feedback from everyone who tries it out so I can make this tool even better for the community. If you’re a Medium writer and need more flexibility to showcase your work, feel free to reach out to me on Discord or here on Medium — I’ll be happy to increase your limit once I verify your need.

If you’re using this tool to create videos from someone else’s article, please make sure to ask the permission first and credit them on your social media posts. Mention the blog title and author’s name, especially if the platform doesn’t allow you to link back to the original article. This small acknowledgment goes a long way in supporting the creators who fuel our feeds with quality content.
