While pursuing my Ph.D. at Stony Brook University, I became interested in using logic programming language and Binary Decision Diagrams to solve program analysis problems. My advisor, the incredible Prof. Eugene Stark, taught me a wealth of knowledge and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from such a knowledgeable individual.
My journey with big data began when I joined Ask.com as a member of their talented engineering team. During my two-year tenure, I worked to build a robust big data analytics platform for the company. It was a valuable and exciting experience.
Following my time at Ask.com, I joined Electronic Arts to establish a big data platform to support game-play and business analytics across the company. At EA Digital Platform, I collaborated with a talented team to develop a comprehensive end-to-end data pipeline, growing the cluster from 50 nodes to 2000 nodes. My role involved developing data ingestion, batch processing, real-time processing, and executing various big data initiatives. This three-year experience was invaluable in my growth as a technology leader.
After leaving EA, I co-founded LinkTimeCloud alongside my college roommate Feng Peng who was a tech lead working at Twitter. Our company specializes in big data and developed a data platform upon Mesos, with big data applications running as containers. We later transitioned to Kubernetes, launching the Kubernetes Data Platform. Our journey in the cloud-native big data field is ongoing, and we have much to accomplish.
